On the night of 16 May 1943 nineteen Lancasters took off on a daring raid deep into Germany. On the bombing run an exact height of 60 feet had to be held. This flight will take you through the beautiful Peak District covering Chatsworth House, the Mam Tor rock formations and Lady Bower reservoir/Derwent Valley where the RAF trained for the Dam Buster flights during World War II. This 30 minute helicopter trial lesson is a perfect, unforgettable gift for a friend or relative (you could even treat yourself). On this experience, due to the size of the Helicopter you can even take two friends along for the ride! In every trial lesson the student has the opportunity to take control. Tuition is usually in a Robinson R44. All training helicopters have dual controls so the instructor can safely demonstrate and monitor the handling of the aircraft. In planes that, until recently were used by the Swedish Airforce, take to the skies over England with a fully qualified instructor to put the quick and manoeuvrable Bulldog through its paces. Following a detailed safety and technical briefing, a formation take off, aerobatic flying and a formation loop are just some of the possibilities during your 30 minute flight. The real highlight is the opportunity to tail chase one of the other planes, just like you have seen it done in the films! This experience is extremely safe and all instructors are either current or former RAF pilots but you must listen to their instructions at all times and complete a medical declaration before flying.
